To turn off or stop using the family features Microsoft provides, follow the. For Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1,.

I made the mistake of turning this feature on. These are the steps in which I installed and tried to turn off.1. I created an account on my PC that would be the child account, I also created a parent account with my Microsoft account which is a local admin account on the PC as the what would be the adult account.2. I went to created a family using the adult account. I then invited the child account.3.

Signed into child account accepted invitation4. Turn on safety features-right away there were issues, when I tried to do anything on child account it wanted to ask for permission, but when I hit Ask By Email I got an error that said 'Something went wrongWe’re working on it – try again in a little bit.Trace ID: eo5C/d1Uc0aUOvkX.1.1'5. Tried turning features on/off using account.microsoft.com/family page but no luck same issues. So I decided to just remove it.

This is where the real hell begins. To try to shut off these features I did the following1. Went to account.microsoft.com/family and removed the child account. As soon as I do this, I am never given an option to remove the adult account. When I go back to the page now I just get this screen asking me to add a family member.2. I tried adding child account, repeated all steps, same results, same page, no change to remove adult.3. When I go to accounts on my Windows PC it says it can't connect, it shows no family members, there are only local accounts.4.

I removed the child account Windows profile from the PC, I reverted my adult account back to a local log in. Same error of a pop up saying Windows Family Features, saying I need permission, and a button to ask by email which sends out the same error Iposted above.5. I created a new local admin account, not associated with a microsoft account at all, got the same error. I used my girlfriends local account, which was never part of the family, same error. It seems like turning on family features has completely taken over my PC, even local accounts that were never part of the family, including admin accounts I create new.I have backups I know I can just reinstall Windows but I use this for my work and college studies and it would be a HUGE pain in the butt to do so.

If anyone has an answer please help.. Hi, For option 3 When I go to that webpage I get the second image down below after I sign in.

When I go to the family and other people under Account on my PC, I get the first image below. There is no option for me to click 'Manage Family SettingsOnline' and it doesn't show any family members. At this point on my PC there are no accounts left associated with the family I set up. My main account I reverted back to a local admin account instead of being in the family, and signed out of the account. For option 4 after I sign in I get the screen in the second image below. I don't have an option to add an adult account.

If I click add a family member, I get option for adult or child but it wants an email/phone #. So I sent an invite to another one ofmy email accounts. Which then brings me to the screen shown in option 4.

I see my account and I can leave family, and I see the 2nd account I just invited. I can now click remove myself and I get a confirmation email. However when I try to run the same program. The Windows Safety Feature pops up still and wants me to ask via email. This is so frustrating. There are no accounts, or files or anything left on my PC that was associated with this Windows Family feature. All accounts have been removed from their online manager.

And yet it still is running on my PC. I really don't want toreinstall windows or restore from a back up but I haven't found another viable option yet.
